Independent financial journalism focused on helping Americans make smarter borrowing decisions.
LendlyUSA is an independent financial review publication. Our editorial content is written without influence from the lenders we cover. We do not allow advertisers to review, approve, or modify our editorial content before publication.
We make money through affiliate commissions — when readers click our links and apply for loans, we may receive compensation. However, our rankings and recommendations are based on our independent analysis of APR, fees, accessibility, and customer experience — not on which lenders pay us the most.
When we recommend an alternative over Lendly (which we often do), it's because the data genuinely supports that recommendation — even if Lendly is an affiliate partner.
Our editorial team consists of experienced financial writers, researchers, and former lending industry professionals. All reviews are fact-checked against primary sources including lender disclosures, BBB filings, and consumer complaint databases.
We review 100+ data points per lender including APR ranges, fee structures, state availability, credit reporting practices, and customer reviews across Trustpilot, BBB, WalletHub, and Reddit.
We are an advertising-supported publication. When you click on an affiliate link and apply for a loan, we may receive a referral commission from the lender. This commission is paid by the lender — not by you.
Compensation may influence which lenders appear prominently on our pages, but it does not influence our ratings, written reviews, or recommendations. We maintain strict separation between advertising relationships and editorial content.

Disclaimer: LendlyUSA is not a lender, loan broker, or financial advisor. We do not make lending decisions. All information on this site is for educational purposes only. Always review loan terms directly with the lender before making any financial commitment. APR figures cited on this site are estimates based on publicly available lender disclosures and may not reflect the exact rate offered to you.
LendlyUSA was founded on a simple observation: the bad-credit lending space is dominated by content that either oversells the product (typical affiliate marketing) or moralistically condemns the entire category (academic and consumer-advocacy publications). Neither approach actually helps the borrower standing in front of an emergency expense, deciding whether to take a 199% APR loan tonight or wait until payday and risk a late fee on rent.
Our editorial mission is to occupy the middle ground: honest, mathematically rigorous analysis of products like Lendly that acknowledges both their legitimate place in some borrowers' lives and their real costs. We will tell you when the APR makes the product objectively a bad choice, and we will tell you when the structural protections (like Lendly's automatic payroll deduction) make it the right choice for a specific situation. Either way, the reader gets the full math before deciding.
LendlyUSA is an advertising-supported review publication. When you click an affiliate link on our site — including the application form embedded on our homepage — we may receive a commission from the lender if you complete an application and are approved. This compensation funds our editorial operation, hosting, research subscriptions, and writer fees.
However, affiliate compensation does not influence our editorial conclusions. We rank products by their objective merits to the borrower, not by commission rates. Our published review of Lendly explicitly identifies cheaper alternatives where they exist (OppLoans at lower APR, credit union PALs at much lower APR), even though directing readers to those alternatives reduces our own revenue. This is our editorial standard and a core differentiator from affiliate sites that bury the cheaper-option discussion or omit it entirely.
Every claim on LendlyUSA is verified against at least one of these primary sources:
Borrower forum posts, social media commentary, and anecdotal evidence are used to surface themes worth investigating, but no claim makes it into our published reviews based on forum reports alone. Independent verification against primary sources is required.
Three commitments define our editorial independence:
